The Government of Liberia, in partnership with the Government of China, invites qualified Liberians to apply for 11 fully funded postgraduate scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year.


Available Fields of Study

The scholarship covers studies in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, Structural, Geotechnical, Architectural, Railway, Highway, and Transport Engineering, as well as GIS and Surveying, Agriculture and Land Management, Public Health, Computer Science and Programming, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Finance and Banking, Geology, Geography, Accounting, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Education, and Education Planning.


Eligibility

  • Liberian citizen

  • Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree, under age 35, GPA 3.00+

  • PhD applicants: Master’s degree, under age 40, GPA 3.00+

  • Computer literate

Required Documents (3 Sets)

  • CV with email & phone

  • Notarized degree(s) & transcript(s)

  • Passport & birth certificate

  • Two recommendation letters (academic + professional)

  • Study Plan (Master’s – minimum 800 words) or Research Proposal (PhD)

  • One-page statement on why you want to study in China and how it benefits Liberia

  • Six passport photos (white background)

  • Chinese medical exam form (preferably MERCY CLINIC: 0777-888-686)

The European Union’s Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic co-operation between the EU and the rest of the world. The three main objectives of the programme are linked to the internationalisation of students, staff, curricula and research; ensure an influence on the development of practice in SEN and inclusive education; and to develop international collaborative networks, projects and research Erasmus Mundus supports Joint Programmes (Masters Courses and Joint Doctorates).

Aim and Benefits of Erasmus Mundus Journalism Scholarship

  • Full tuition waiver for the duration of the programme.
  • Monthly allowance of €1400 to support travel, visa, installation, and living costs.
  • Allowance is granted for up to 24 months, starting from the first September of the 2-year programme.

Requirements for Erasmus Mundus Journalism Scholarship Qualification

  • A 3 year bachelor’s degree within a relevant field of study
  • Documentation of English language proficiency (to be included in your application if you are not a native English speaker)
  • At least 3 months of journalistic experience

Interview date, Process and Venue for Erasmus Mundus Journalism Scholarship

To ensure that the strongest candidates are admitted, priority is given to academic merit. Candidates must demonstrate above-average academic performance in their undergraduate studies to be considered. The Committee conducts a holistic review of each application, assessing:

  • Academic background and academic merit
  • Quality of journalistic experience
  • Quality and depth of the Application Reflections (without using AI)
  • Potential to successfully complete the degree and contribute meaningfully to the global journalism field after graduation
