Hon. Taa Z. Wongbe

Representative, District 9 | ECOWAS Parliament

A Journey of Resilience & Service

Born in Nimba, Taa grew up witnessing the strength of his community amid hardship. As a refugee, he learned early the value of perseverance. That drive carried him through to opportunities in the United States, where he built a career in corporate America with leading firms including Deloitte, Gartner, and McKinsey & Company. There, he gained critical experience in technology, strategy, and organizational transformation — skills that would later shape his work in Africa.

Guided by a passion to give back, Taa returned to the continent and founded FieldWorkz (formerly The Khana Group), which has grown into one of Africa’s leading advisory, data, and insights firms. Over more than a decade, FieldWorkz has worked in 30+ countries, helping governments, global NGOs, and Fortune 500 companies use data to make better decisions in health, education, agriculture, and economic development.

In 2020, Taa took a bold step into public service by running for office in Nimba’s District 9. Though he did not win, he did not relent. Instead, he deepened his work with communities, listening, learning, and building trust. In 2023, he returned to the ballot with humility and conviction — and was elected as Representative of District 9.

District 9 Delivery Unit

The D9DU is the engine driving the Better Life Agenda, structured to combine strategic leadership, technical expertise, and community ownership.

The District 9 Delivery Unit (D9DU) is the engine driving the Better Life Agenda. It is structured to combine strategic leadership, technical expertise, and community ownership. At the top, the Representative provides vision and oversight, supported by a Delivery Unit Director and deputies responsible for each of the six pillars — healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, empowerment, and leadership.

A core support team manages monitoring and evaluation, finance and grants, and communications to ensure transparency and accountability. On the ground, the Delivery Unit works hand-in-hand with town chiefs, elders, community development committees, women, and youth representatives, creating a governance model where every voice is heard and every project is tracked.

This structure ensures that District 9 is not just a constituency, but an ecosystem of people, partnerships, and accountability working together for transformation.
